Traffic Generation
If I build it they will come…
That isn’t necessarily true in the online world of internet marketing is it?
You can build the most state of the art website, be so proud of the technology that has been incorporated, and the wonderful feedback you have from your friends and family. Now that it’s live, you all wait for the orders to come in… ahhh yes, all those orders.
But.. where are they and why are they not coming in like you thought they should? Your pretty, well thought out site just isn’t producing like you wished it would. This is a common and frustrating problem in big world of Internet marketing.
It’s real simple.
If no one finds your website, no orders will come in. If nobody can find you, you don’t exist. Your product may be the best there is and a fantastic value, your transformational and life changing service would change peoples lives, or your message just needs to be heard. But if no one sees or hears you.. you can’t change lives, share your message or, quite frankly, pay your bills..
So then, how do people find you? There are so many different ways to be seen.
Paid advertising, Google Adwords, Social networks, Google, Twitter, Facebook, article writing, directories, and so many other ways to get the word out. Offline you have the Yellow Pages, direct mail, newspapers, radio, television and even the ValPak.
How do you navigate through all the different choices of driving traffic to a website? And..the real question is this: is the traffic targeted buying traffic, or just “tire kickers” coming to your site without any intention of buying.
So then, it’s not just traffic, it’s targeted traffic looking for what YOU have to offer. This is the challenge and this is what M-Powered Media is here to help you get accomplished.
Your visibility online can be in the form of paid advertisements like Google Adwords, or the “organic,” (unpaid) listings that come up when you search for something. The goal, in order to be seen, is to be on the first page of the search engine listing when someone looks for your product or service.
The fact is this… there is a strategic plan that needs to be implemented in order to be seen. It’s not just one “secret” that will have people knocking down your door and the orders flooding in. It’s an integrated, multi-faceted approach that is both time consuming and tedious. It’s not easy, however it produces fantastic results.
It’s the combination of a well laid out website.. keyword rich for the niche you are in. People are not looking for the words “Click here to order,” but they may be looking for the words “How to train a Corgi.” Your keywords are a huge part of whether people will find you or not. Have you done any research as to what keywords your customers are actually looking for? Not what you “think” they are looking for..never assume anything.
Is your content on your site relevant to the keywords that people are searching for? Remember the search engines are looking for relevant content for their results. Is your content compelling and meaningful? This is another big factor in getting people to find you online. Relevant content. Not just old used private label articles that are everywhere, or things that you have swiped from other people. Something new and something fresh
Are you popular? Now, I know that you may think you are popular, however the internet search engines are really looking to see how many other people think you are. What this means is that sites that already have a lot of popularity linking back to your site is like a vote in the popularity contest. More votes, better page ranking.
So as you can see, it’s a lot of work to be seen. Content, relevance and popularity is the algorithm of the Internet search game, and ultimately driving a ton of traffic to your site.
So, with that in mind… here’s my famous quote..
“Putting up a site and just hoping people come to it is like setting a banquet without sending out invitations.” - David McKinney
